We’re very happy to be kicking off our Meet our Client series with our awesome long-term client, Sonia Schechter, Chief Marketing Officer at Marxent, based in the US.

Marxent works in the very cool space of Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality. We’ve been working together for the past four years during which time Marxent have grown from a small team of 6 to 50+ people.

We caught up with Sonia and asked her to share some news from Marxent, what it’s like working with Moove and her role as a Marketer.

Quick-fire questions: About Marxent

Q. Have you got a showreel that explains what Marxent does?

Marxent offers market-leading expertise in the latest Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality for Android, iOS, Oculus Rift, GearVR and more. Here’s a link to our VisualCommerce explainer, there are more videos on our website plus we have a YouTube Channel.

Q. Marxent won some awards recently – congratulations!

Marxent recently won the Edison Award Gold for innovation in virtual reality, Gartner "cool vendor" in digital commerce marketing and Forrester 'Breakout Vendor" in Augmented and Virtual Reality.

Q. Who are some of your clients that you’re most proud of working with?

We’re proud of all of our client relationships but if I had to highlight a few it would be Lowe’s Innovation Labs and the Lowe’s Holoroom, also CPG Building Products (AZEK/TimberTech), Novartis and Hologic.

Marxent and Moove

Marxent and Moove have worked together since early 2012

Q. We have worked together since early 2012, what has your experience been of working with us over the years?

It’s been a great experience. We move quickly and Moove has been able to help us evolve by being nimble, responsive and flexible.

Q. What was the reason that you wanted to work with Moove on your web projects?

Moove provided the most thoughtful proposal and had expertise in developing WordPress sites. We wanted a WordPress expert that also had design capabilities and was extremely responsive. Moove turned out to be all three of these things and has been a great ally over the past many years.

Q. Over the past 4 years, we have enhanced your website with many improvements and new features added. Has it had an impact on the amount of new leads and new business that Marxent receive?

Our marketing strategy for the past 4 years has been largely dependent on inbound online leads. That means that most customers first interact with Marxent through our web presence. Moove is a huge part of that and has truly set us apart from the competition. The sheer depth of our content and the way it is a huge differentiator. The look and feel generate buyer confidence. We have been very pleased with the relationship and the outcomes.

Your role as a marketer

Q. What challenges do you face as a marketer in 2016?

Measuring marketing ROI across channels. Even though everything is measurable, with so many channels it has become harder to pinpoint the actual customer journey and how to value various marketing and advertising channels.

Q. What has worked well for you in growing marketing outreach?

SEO and our WordPress blog, all the way. It makes content development and distribution so easy.

Q. Would you say that our work helps your work and achieving your marketing and financial targets?

Yes, definitely. It is a great relationship for us and has worked well for us throughout the past 4 years. In the time we’ve been working with Moove, we’ve gone from a very small 6 person firm to a 50+ person company. Moove has been with us every step of the way.

Q. As a marketer, what are your favourite sources of information that help you stay on top of the latest marketing trends?

That’s a good question. I’m not really using any one source in particular right now and tend to rely on search to go deeper on topics of immediate interest. My core principals rely on marketing through creating valuable content and distributing that content.

And finally, what’s next for Marxent?

We have carved a unique niche for ourselves in Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality and are looking forward to an exciting era of growth.

Thanks, Sonia! Here’s to the next four years!
